Quick Pie Without Phyllo Sheets

This recipe for a pie without phyllo sheets is ideal for those who want a delicious and simple homemade specialty prepared with very little effort.

By mixing the ingredients with a spoon and with a short preparation time, this pie always impresses with its soft texture and rich flavor.

It’s perfect for any occasion—from a family meal to enjoying with friends. Here’s what you need:

Ingredients:

  • 400 g flour

  • 7 g dry yeast

  • 150 ml lukewarm milk

  • 180 ml lukewarm water

  • 70 ml oil

  • 4 eggs (room temperature)

  • 200 g cow cheese (crumbled)

  • 7 g salt

  • 10 g sugar

  • a little butter (for greasing)

Preparation:

  1. In a deep bowl, mix the lukewarm milk, lukewarm water, dry yeast, sugar, and salt. Add the oil and gradually incorporate the flour. Mix with a spoon or spatula until everything combines into a soft and sticky dough.

  2. Cover the bowl with a clean cloth or plastic bag and let the dough rise in a warm place for about 30 minutes or until it doubles in volume.

  3. After rising, lightly stir the dough with a spoon, then add the eggs and cheese. Mix well until fully incorporated.

  4. Grease a 25 × 30 cm baking tray and dust it lightly with flour. Spread the dough evenly in the tray, cover, and let it rise for another 20–30 minutes.

  5. Place small pieces of butter over the risen dough. Bake the pie in a preheated oven at 200°C for 25–30 minutes, until golden brown.

  6. Remove the pie from the oven, let it cool slightly, and serve warm.

This pie is excellent on its own or paired with yogurt, ajvar, or a fresh salad. Enjoy its irresistible taste!
